"The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not to win but to take part, just as the most important thing in life is not the triumph, but the struggle. The essential thing is not to have conquered, but to have fought well."
Olympic Creed

Imagine going back in time to watch the very first Olympics.  You would have to go back over 2,500 years to the year 776 BC.  Picture yourself in Greece on a warm summer day and you see a man named Coroebus run by you and cross the finish line. That's all you would have seen! You would have witnessed the Ancient Olympic Games or should I say "Game!"  There was only one race and Coroebus the winner was not even a professional runner - in fact, he was a cook!

The Olympic Games have certainly changed!  Before you go any farther.....ask yourself this question,
"How have the Olympics changed from the first game 2,500 years ago?"
